Failures rarely come at a convenient time
A PC will not start, an important document is overwritten, or malware encrypts files. What matters then is more than whether a copy exists: you need to know how to get back to work.
Copying files is a start
An extra file copy can help, but it does not automatically include applications, settings and the operating system. A system image captures a more complete state of the backed-up PC. Recovery also depends on hardware, the available backup and the chosen solution.
Sync and backup serve different purposes
Synchronisation keeps files up to date across devices. It can also propagate deletions or unwanted changes. Version histories and recycle bins can help, but they do not replace an agreed backup and recovery plan.
Four questions to ask
Which data and systems are covered? How much data loss could you tolerate? How long can recovery take? When was a recovery last tested? The answers help define the right protection for your business.
Plan for recovery
Backups should be monitored, access protected and restores checked. Separate copies, potentially offline or immutable, can reduce risks. These capabilities must be agreed for the chosen solution; they are not automatically included in every backup.
What noworrIT Premium adds
noworrIT Premium adds full system backup to the managed Workplace. The current package proposal includes backups every two hours and one year of retention. Recovery of the backed-up system sits alongside ongoing management. Coverage, requirements and recovery services are set out in your offer.
Treat Workplace and cloud separately
Premium covers the agreed Workplace. Cloud data needs its own protection plan, which is where noworrIT Cloud comes in. Backup does not promise zero data loss or a recovery time that has not been agreed.
Our suggestion
Let’s discuss what your business needs when something goes wrong. Together we can decide whether Premium and separate cloud protection fit your requirements.
